Tantalum powder is a kind of tantalum metal powder with dark gray appearance. According to different shapes, tantalum powder can be divided into spherical tantalum powder, flake tantalum powder and irregular tantalum powder. According to different particle sizes, tantalum powder can be divided into coarse tantalum powder, medium tantalum powder, fine tantalum powder, extremely fine tantalum powder, ultrafine tantalum powder and tantalum nanopowder. According to different applications, tantalum powder can be divided into capacitor grade tantalum powder, metallurgical grade tantalum powder, medium and high voltage tantalum powder, tantalum powder for additive manufacturing, etc.
Capacitor Grade Tantalum Powder
Tantalum powder produced by sodium reduction method can be used to make capacitors with rated withstand voltage of 4v-40v. It can be used to make chip type and impregnated tantalum electrolytic capacitors and organic polymer capacitors with excellent performance. Tantalum capacitors made of capacitor grade tantalum powder have the advantages of good formability, high specific capacitance, low leakage current and low equivalent series resistance.
Metallurgical Grade Tantalum Powder
Metallurgical grade tantalum powder can be used in powder metallurgy to make various tantalum processing materials and alloy additives.
Medium and High Pressure Tantalum Powder
Medium and high pressure tantalum powder is a kind of tantalum powder with lamellar primary particles. Compared with sodium reduced tantalum powder, this tantalum powder has larger particle size, smaller specific surface area and simpler particle shape. It has the characteristics of good sintering resistance, high reliability and high voltage resistance, and is especially suitable for making medium and high voltage solid tantalum electrolytic capacitors with high reliability requirements of 20~63V.

Tantalum powder for additive manufacturing refers to spherical tantalum powder with certain particle size range. It is mainly used in 3D printing, additive manufacturing, thermal spraying, injection molding, laser cladding and other fields or occasions.
