Rhenium is a heavy metal with silvery white appearance. The chemical symbol is Re. The atomic number is 75. The melting point is 3180 ℃. The boiling point is 5900 ℃. The density is 21.02 g/cm3. Rhenium has hexagonal close packed crystal structure with lattice constants a = 276.1pm and C = 445.6pm. Rhenium can resist alkali, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, dilute nitric acid and aqua regia at standard temperature and pressure.
