There are two kinds of allotropes in tellurium: black powder, amorphous tellurium and silver white, metallic luster, hexagonal crystalline tellurium. The element symbol is Te. The density is 6.25g/cm3. The melting point is 452 ℃. The boiling point is 1390 ℃. Tellurium burns in air with a blue flame to form tellurium dioxide. Tellurium can react with halogen, but not with sulfur and selenium. Tellurium is soluble in sulfuric acid, nitric acid, potassium hydroxide and potassium cyanide solutions.
