Zinc is a kind of metal with silvery white and light blue appearance. The chemical symbol is Zn. Zinc is in the fourth cycle and the second group B in the periodic table of chemical elements. The atomic number is 30. The atomic weight is 65.38. The density is 7.14g/cm3 and the melting point is 419.5 ℃. At room temperature, it is brittle; at 100-150 ℃, it becomes soft; at 200 ℃, it becomes dry again. The chemical property of zinc is active. A thin and dense basic zinc carbonate film is formed on the surface of zinc in air at room temperature, which can prevent further oxidation. When the temperature reaches 225 ℃, zinc oxidizes violently. Zinc is easy to dissolve in acid, and also easy to replace gold, silver and copper from solution.
