Tantalum is a steel gray metal, which belongs to VB family in the periodic table of elements. Tantalum has an atomic number of 73 and an atomic weight of 180.9479. The hardness of tantalum is low, and its melting point is as high as 2995 ℃. Tantalum is malleable and can be drawn into thin foil of filament type. In addition, tantalum has a strong toughness, superior to copper.
Tantalum foil is an ultra-thin tantalum foil less than 0.2 mm.
